Shuyuan Mary Ho is a researcher and a PhD Candidate at School of Information Studies, Syracuse University. Her research interest is focused on information systems security (ISS), which includes information content security, information security management and computing security. Her dissertation is in the interdisciplinary area of behavioral anomaly detection for online communities. This research is aimed at discovering the mechanisms for detecting changes in trustworthiness for countering insider threats.
Shuyuan is a CISSP (#39416) from (ISC)2 and a CISM (#0404247) from ISACA. Shuyuan has been an InfoSec Professional actively involved in technologies such as IPSec VPN, SSL VPN, Certificate Authority, RBAC, firewall, intrusion detection, vulnerability assessment, and policy management since 1996. She successfully managed a software-based virtual private network technology transfer project for the Republic of China Military Defense during 1999-2000 and led a research team in developing an event correlation platform; SIMPL/E (Security Information Monitoring Platform/Environment) in 2003. Shuyuan also participated in a research project, Countering Insider Threats, which was supported by the Information Assurance for the Intelligence Community (IAIC) program of the Advanced Research and Development Activity (ARDA). This research has been published and presented at the 2nd Symposium Intelligence & Security Informatics, Tucson AZ, June 2004. Shuyuan has been nominated as one of the 2004-2006 (ISC)2 Scholarship Award Winners, and was recognized at the 2005 RSA Conference, San Francisco, CA.Eischen has been the Director of Career Services and Experiential Learning for the School of Information Studies at Syracuse University for the past ten years. Debra is a certified Global Career Development Facilitator as well as a certified instructor for this certification issued by the Center for Credentialing and Education, Inc. Her education includes an associate degree in business, an undergraduate degree in Psychology, and a graduate degree in Human Resource Management and Development. Debra is presently earning her doctoral degree in Cultural Foundations of Education through the School of Education at Syracuse University. With over twenty-five years in corporate America, Debra’s goal is to combine her work, life, and academic experiences to help others in the career planning process. Her research interest includes “storytelling” as an effective method of teaching career planning strategies. |
