This is a study of occupational culture in the Information Technology field and the social forces that exist on newcomers to the field. Currently, women and minorities are very underrepresented in the field and we seek to discover if these social forces are keeping them out. Our research could play a major role in the retention of women and minority students in the IT field. For a more detailed description of the project see the Purpose section of the site.
